Welcome to this session of grand rounds, a collection of posts I have discovered in the blogosphere and have found of interest and hope you do too.
This offering of Grand Rounds looks at articles from around the web that deal with how your mindset has a dramatic impact on your emotional well being.
Sometimes we are our own worst enemies.
We often pigeon hole ourselves into an undesirable position and can be trapped there unless we break the self-imposed things that chain us down.
The Frugal Physician shares how her issues with money have plagued her until she finally decided to do something about it in, “My Limiting Belief With Money.”
Hopefully this can shed some light on the things that may be holding you back.
It is all in your mind.
Two people can view the same situation and have completely different outlooks based on the way they choose to frame it.
It is the abundance versus scarcity mindset that will dictate your behavior and have drastic outcomes on your wallet.
The Female Money Doctor expounds on this concept further in the post, “The 10 Limiting Money Mindset Blocks Keeping You BROKE!”
What are you striving for in life?
Is it fame or fortune?
Sadly achieving either or both does not automatically mean you will be happy.
We often hear of celebrities who have committed suicide after achieving both and at the pinnacle of their careers.
So what should you shoot for instead?
Contentment.
Fortunately The Physician Philosopher gives you some ways to achieve this in, “9 Practical Tips To Find Contentment.”
Be at fair or not, there are a lot of societal pressures placed on us because we are physicians.
Sadly most of us play right into this and buy into the hype by purchasing the McMansion and luxury cars etc right off the bat.
The amount of society pressure for the physician to look the part can vary based on specialty.
On the very pinnacle of this phenomenon is the plastic surgeon, whose livelihood is based on creating a glamorous appearance.
So it is quite refreshing when a newly minted plastic surgeon is bucking the trend and prioritizing substance over looks.
This physician shares his story on Physician on FIRE in, “How I Found Financial Security In A Culture Obsessed with Consumerism.”
We have all heard the saying, “Money Can’t Buy You Happiness.”
But is it really true?
Sure there are plenty of examples of extremely wealthy and famous individuals who are unhappy, going as far as taking their own lives.
Well Entrepreneur has scientific proof that money can bring happiness in, “Science Says Money Does Buy Happiness If You Spend It The Right Way.”
Hope you enjoyed the reading material.
Have a great rest of the week.
