Welcome to the first installment of my Grand Rounds series which will bring interesting tidbits of information from around the web into one place for your viewing pleasure.
The Blogosphere is continually expanding. One of the newest bloggers is Jeff, a dentist at Debt Free Doctor, who provides us with inspiration from the Wizard of Omaha himself, the great Warren Buffet in The 7 Lessons I Learned From “Becoming Warren Buffet”.
Want to find out where you are on track to financial independence? Yeah me too. Try Minafi’s Interactive Guide to Early Retirement and Financial Independence (I like FIRE way better than ERFI) similar to those Mad Libs I used to do as a kid.
Just found out that you are indeed on track and ready to ditch the workforce? Check out Retirement Manifesto’s The Ultimate Pre-Retirement Check List.
As physicians/high net worth (or presumed high net worth by society) individuals, we have a bullseye on our backs. Make sure you have your i’s dotted and your t’s crossed and listen to this highly informative podcast on Asset Protection for Physicians courtesy of Dr. Money Matters.
Millionaire Doc describes my now favorite holiday, Tax Freedom Day with his post titled A Tax On Time. Apparently last year it landed on my birthday. If I had known I would have celebrated twice as hard.
If you cut off the head, two will grow in it’s place. Looks like Physician Financial bloggers are sprouting up much like the mythical Hydra (I am guilty of being one of them). Crispy Doc has compiled an excellent list of the physician bloggers out there (because it is alphabetical I clock in at the very end at #50 (note to self next time I name a blog, name it like a bail bondsmen: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAXrayvsn.com)
One newly minted physician finance blogger that I couldn’t find on the above list is Ray, a surgical pathologist, who has a site called Fifteen Minute Financial Fitness. He shares a secret key to wealth which should be shouted from the mountaintops.
Is it possible to have a $200k draw in retirement and have a tax bill of $0? Yeah that pretty much caught my eye too. Here’s how Go Green Dollar suggests doing it in Retire Early and Pay Zero Income Taxes….Forever.
If you are a relatively new blogger, or know of a blog that may not have hit mainstream yet, please draw it to my attention in the comments below and I will try to feature it in a future Grand Rounds segment. I am always on the lookout for interesting content.
I have found that each blogger has his or her own personality and viewpoints and I always walk away with some new found information that I can put to use.
Even though there are only a finite number of topics in this genre, hearing them from different sources also helps solidify the underlying concepts.
